REGISTRATION
DOs, DON'Ts
and OTHER INFO

Please read this BEFORE registering or if you wish to make changes in your profile:

Although there are several items of info that may be stored, there are four (4) critical ones:

1. Publicly Displayed Name: This is the name everyone will see when you post. This CAN be changed after you register.

2. Login Name: This CANNOT be changed once registered.

3. Password: A randomly generated password is assigned at registration, but you CAN change it once you login.

4. E-mail address: A valid e-mail address is required to register. This CAN be changed after you register. See E-mail section below for more info.

All other information is optional.

E-MAIL issues:

1. You must receive a registration confirmation e-mail before you can post. This e-mail will contain your (initial) password.

2. Your ISP's e-mail software/server (or company's firewall) MAY block receipt of this confirmation e-mail! The proliferation of viruses and spam have forced many ISPs and companies to install AV and Anti-spam software which can prevent delivery.

3. If you are an AOL user, there is a higher probability that you will not receive the confirmation e-mail.

4. The confirmation e-mail should be received in minutes after registration is complete. If not received within an hour, you should suspect a block by your e-mail server.

5. Should your e-mail address change, you can change it in your profile, BUT you will be sent a new confirmation with a new random password.

Solutions:

1. Use one of the free e-mail services such as Hotmail. They do not block our e-mails (YET!).
2. If all else fails, e-mail Webmaster@BoatSetup.com for your info/password. This may take a day or two if we are not available.

We encourage everyone to register and join in the discussions on the Forums. We will continue to do our best to make the process as painless as possible.
